A Bulwark Against the Storm: The unequal impact of COVID relief policies on families with young children
New longitudinal research from Children's HealthWatch shows dramatic increases in food insecurity and being behind on rent for families with young children during the COVID-19 pandemic and highlights the disproportionate impact of these hardships on immigrant families. While federal relief efforts sought to reduce economic hardship for families, millions of immigrants were intentionally excluded from programs and/or unable to benefit from efforts due to structural barriers.

Our virtual town hall on September 29th from 12:30 pm ET / 11:30 am CT will unveil new findings from this longitudinal study and engage in a conversation on the implications of this research for ongoing policy and program implementation discussions. This virtual event is part of our Equity Can't Wait Town Hall Series, which sheds light on how racism and inequities erode the promise that is this country's children, and how public policies must, and can be changed, so that all children may thrive and have a real chance for healthy, fulfilled lives.
